In mid-march, the 12th Annual RISE Nashville Summit saw record attendance of over 1,300 attendees and sponsors. Held at the Omni Hotel in downtown Nashville, the three-day conference is the premier event for professionals leading the US government healthcare reform movement. It offers ample networking opportunities and invaluable content in the areas of risk adjustment, quality management, financial compliance and performance analytics.

The event featured 35+ relevant and timely topics, six different track themes dedicated to the industry's most significant issues, and five foundational pre-conference workshops each of which boasted a remarkable turnout.

Notable in the speaker line-up this year were Dr. Peter Salgo, a healthcare futurist and medical crisis expert; Naomi Judd, famed country music singer, actress and author; and J.R. Martinez, retired U.S. army soldier, motivational speaker and author. Each speaker provided a unique perspective on the healthcare space, providing inspiration to attendees both personally and professionally.

The annual Martin L. Block Award for Clinical Excellence and Innovation was awarded to Dr. Manjusri Vennamaneni, Chief Medical Director and Chief Quality Director for Access Health Care Physicians, LLC. Dr. Vennamaneni's nomination cited numerous significant accomplishments contributing directly to the mission of Access Health Care Physicians and its IPA.

There were plentiful interactions within the exhibit hall and roundtable sessions on both days, which allowed for additional networking and partnership opportunities for sponsors and attendees alike.

The special ingredient at this year's RISE Nashville Summit was the launch of The RISE Institute, the new educational entity established to meet the needs of its members, providing a variety of educational programs and certifications related to government healthcare. At the forefront of RISE Institute's educational offerings are new eLearning courses and certifications specializing in Risk Adjustment and Advanced HCC Auditing. In addition, the RISE Institute expands its educational programs by offering new in-house training, bringing the opportunity for groups, associations and companies to learn on-site with one of RISE Institute's subject matter experts as the instructor.

Over the last two years, the RISE Association has worked with the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University to support the career launches of healthcare MBA students and the talent recruitment needs of our RISE employers. This year, the RISE Nashville Summit took place at the beginning of the Spring quarter at Vanderbilt. As a result, several MBA students were able to attend the conference to learn about this sector of the healthcare industry and to network for potential career opportunities.
