RISE announces Dave deBronkart, leading patient engagement advocate, to present, "One Patient's Compelling Story of Beating Cancer: How Your Plan Can Better Serve Its Members"
CHARLOTTE, NC, September 26, 2018 -- RISE is pleased to announce that Dave deBronkart, also known on the Internet as "E-Patient Dave," will be the keynote speaker at the 9th Annual RISE Star Ratings Master Class in San Diego.
deBronkart, author of the highly rated book, "Let Patients Help: A Patient Engagement Handbook," and a leading patient advocate, will speak on Tuesday, Dec. 11, the first day of the two-day conference.
After beating stage IV kidney cancer in 2007, deBronkart became a blogger, health policy advisor and international keynote speaker. His 2011 Ted Talk, "Let Patients Help," for years was in the top half of the most viewed TED Talks of all time with more than a half million views. He is now the best-known spokesman for the patient engagement movement.
His presentation at the 9th Annual RISE Star Ratings Master Class will address how health plans can become more member-driven.
The Master Class will take place on Dec. 11 and 12 and will provide Medicare Advantage Health Plan leaders, service providers, and consultants the cutting-edge strategies they need to boost their Stars scores by improving member experience measures. This year's conference will also address the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services' new focus on consumerism.
In addition to Dave's keynote address, the Master Class will include a presentation from Ashby Wolfe, M.D., chief medical officer, Region IX for CMS, who will provide an update on CMS policy related to the Medicare Stars program, Medicare Advantage, and the agency's work on overall quality improvement and health system transformation.
